Cats and uncovered meat

This story has been all over the blogosphere already: unlike cattle, goats, sheep, horses, and most other creatures humans keep, cats were not deliberately domesticated by us. Cats domesticated themselves.

C'mon, WaPo. We can take the truth. Cats domesticated us.

meaning: joy, pleasure

愉快 == yukai == (noun, adjective that takes な) pleasant, happy
愉楽 == yuraku == (noun) pleasure

Left radical is a radical form of  'heart/feelings'. Right radical is a character found only in Chinese, originally meaning 'convey', here acting phonetically to express 'good'. 'Good feelings' means 'pleasure'. Henshall suggests taking the right radical as 'cut' (刀), 'meat' (肉), and a 'cover', and as a mnemonic: 'Feelings of joy about cut meat being covered.'
