卑怯 == hikyou == (noun, adjective that takes な) cowardice, meanness, unfairness
卑屈 == hikutsu == (noun, adjective that takes な) menial, meanness, servility, abject

Originally a pictograph of a hand squeezing the last drops from a wine press, which meant meanness, or stinginess. Henshall suggests taking the radicals as 'field' (田), 'ten' (十), the remaining stroke as two 'bits', and as a mnemonic: ''Mean and lowly person picks bits from ten fields.'
