But what about the other eight pages?

You're familiar with Sturgeon's Law? Here's Hemingway's Law:

"I write one page of masterpiece to ninety one pages of shit," Hemingway confided to F. Scott Fitzgerald in 1934. "I try to put the shit in the wastebasket."

Me, too. But lordy, lordy, how do I tell the difference?

tsu(mu), tsuma(mu)

meaning: pluck, pick, extract

摘発 == tekihatsu == (noun that can take する to act as a verb) exposing, unmasking, laying bare
指摘 == shiteki == (noun that can take する to act as a verb) pointing out, identification

Left radical is one of the radical versions of 'hand'. Right radical is a character found only in Chinese meaning 'base/starting point', which here acts phonetically to express 'pick'. Thus, 'to pick by hand'. Henshall suggests taking the right radical as a combination of 'emperor' (帝) and 'old' (古), and as a mnemonic: 'Picked by old emperor's hand.'
