Geophysical and astronomical links with occasional mild swear words

And now, a very big hole.

Also, HST wallpaper.

You know, when I saw the link above described as 'HST wallpaper', the first thing I thought of was this. Crap, I feel old sometimes.

Bonus: a brown dwarf orbiting a white dwarf. What amazes me is that at some time in the past, when the star that was to become the white dwarf expanded to become a red giant, the brown dwarf (basically a super-Jupiter) was actually orbiting within the red giant.

... Damn.

SOKU

sunawa(chi)

meaning: immediate, namely, accession

即時 == sokuji == (noun) promptly, immediately
即死== sokushi == (noun) instant death

Left radical is a version of 'food' (食). Right radical is 'kneeling/bending person'. This character originally referred to a person taking their place at dinner. Henshall suggests as a mnemonic: 'Upon accession person immediately kneels by food.'
