The lab rat singularity

And now, the lab rat singularity.

I'm worried.

Although, less than if they uplifted deer. I mean, I've got a deer singularity going on in my back yard right now. Dear mad scientists: whatever you do, DON'T uplift deer. They're basically rats with antlers. Thank you.

And for anyone who hasn't seen it yet, the razor blade singularity.

Too damned many singularities. (...'many singularities'. Hrm.) Come to think of it, that may be a good thing. Maybe they'll all offset one another, and life will go on pretty much as before.

SHOU

SHIN

meaning: gentleman, belt

紳士協定 == shinshikyoutei == (noun) gentleman's agreement
紳士用 ==  shinshiyou == for men, male-

Left radical is 'thread' (糸), which in this character means 'cloth'. Right radical is 'say' (申), which acts phonetically to express 'pull/stretch'. 'Stretched cloth' refers to a sash or belt. Associations with the 'gentleman' who wore this item were a later development. Henshall suggests as a mnemonic: 'Fine threads on belt show he's a gentleman.'
