Pretty in space: the zero-grav wedding dress. What's remarkable is how unremarkable it looks.

So, I haven't been very active on LJ for a while. I'm fine. I've been trying to write and read consistently, and back away from the net a little. Also a heavy work schedule in my salaried occupation during the first half of this month especially.

meaning: harbor, crossing

津津浦浦 == tsutsuuraura == (adverbial noun, noun) all over the country, throughout the land, every nook and cranny of the land
興味津津 ==  kyoumishinshin == (noun, adjective that takes な) very interesting, of absorbing interest, of great interest

Left radical is 'water'.  Right radical is 'brush in hand', which acts phonetically to express 'advance'. 'Advance across water' was the original meaning, i.e., an ocean voyage. In Japanese this led to the character also meaning 'harbor'. Henshall suggests as a mnemonic: 'Cross waters of harbor, brush in hand.'
