SHI abura, yani

== shibou == (noun) fat, grease, blubber |

Left radical is 'flesh/of the body' (肉). Right radical is 'tasty' (旨). In primitive
China, fatty meat was thought tasty. (Even today, well-marbled meat, i.e., meat
with lots of fatty streaks, is considered better tasting than meat with less
fat. Probably has to do with many food flavors being esters (organic salts),
which are more soluble in non-polar or semi-polar media, such as fat, than in
aqueous media. End of today's organic chemistry lesson. Bon appetite!) Henshall suggests as a mnemonic:
'Fat is tasty meat.' Info
