Sadly, the meter thing is broken: it apparently scores 'higher than 99%' for everyone.

As I've mentioned before, I work nights and sleep days: I normally live on a circadian rhythm offset about 12 hours from everyone else in my time zone. I spent a week syncing back so that I wouldn't be falling asleep in the middle of the day at WotF—with  incomplete success—and now I must spend the next week readjusting back to a night schedule. Groan. Basically, for many days, one is never truly awake, nevertheless has trouble getting to sleep, and tends to wake up at irregular and unpredictable times. It's lousy.

meaning: range, sphere, zone

北極圏 == hokkyoukuken == (noun) Arctic Circle
首都圏 == shutoken ==  (noun) the Tokyo area [within 50 km of Tokyo's center]

Outer radical is 'enclosure'. Inner radical is 'roll/roll up' (巻), which acts phonetically to express 'block'. Thus, this character originally meant, 'something contained by blocking enclosure, leading to meanings like, zone, range, etc. Henshall suggests as a mnemonic: 'Enclosure is rolled around zone.'
