KEI

tazusa(waru), tazusa(eru)
meaning: carry, participate

連携== renkei == (noun) cooperation
必携 == hikkei==  (noun) handbook, manual, vade mecum

Left radical is one of the radical versions of 'hand'. Right radical is of uncertain etymology. It apparently originally meant 'bird with plump thighs/buttocks', and it acts phonetically to express 'carry'. Thus the character originally meant, 'carry in the hand'. The top part of the right radical is 'bird'. Henshall suggests remembering the lower part as a pair of 'plump buttocks', and as a mnemonic: 'Carry plump-buttocked bird in hand.'
