Daylight Savings Time might kill you.

I've been a DST skeptic for a while—why, exactly, are we doing this?—but this is the first time I've heard that DST is actually bad for you, and may result in excess deaths. And I think the Stromata guy's point may be valid, that even if DST saved a little electricity fifty years ago, that's doubtful today.

Yet, Congress wants to extend this ridiculous mumpsimus even further, back into March and forward into November. The foolishness is bipartisan, co-sponsored by Democrat Edward Markey of Massachusetts, and Republican Fred Upton of Michigan. A pox on them both.

Arizona has the right idea. Death to Daylight Savings Time!

KEI

meaning: punish

死刑== shikei == (noun) death penalty, capital punishment
刑務所 == keimusho==  (noun) prison, penitentiary

Right radical is one of the radical forms of 'sword/cut' (刀). The left radical, now identical to 'well-frame' (井), was originally a pictograph of a lattice window. It acts phonetically to express 'injure'. Henshall suggests as a mnemonic: 'Cut up while in well-frame: what a punishment!'
