I am Mr. Anchovy. You must come to Turkey.

A story about a device that allows you to inhale alcohol has been in the news lately.

Note that you don't need an expensive bar gadget to do this. In fact, it can even happen accidentally: Don't freebase your vodka sauce.

Yes, it is possible for alcohol to enter the human body through many different, um, channels. Reminds me of a story from a few years ago of college kids giving each other beer enemas.

PS: This is not recommended. Urban legend says that some of them died from alcohol OD. I don't know whether that's true or not, but it's not an area I'd want to explore.

PPS: as long as I'm on the subject of the human body absorbing alcohol, some more advice: if your baby has a fever, don't sponge them down with rubbing alcohol. It is possible for the tyke to absorb a toxic amount.

Via Slashdot: Talk to the worm. A recent e-mail worm embeds a sound file that uses the Windows Speech Engine in Win XP to talk to the user. This is what it says.

A hamsi is a small fish found in the Black Sea, rather like an anchovy.

Prediction: this will quickly be sampled and wind up in a Flash music video

ZA
suwa(ru)
meaning: seat, sit, gather

銀座 == ginza == the Ginza
魚座 == uoza == Pisces

Originally showed two 'persons' (人) sitting on the 'ground' (土). The upper/left radical, 'building/roof', was added later. Henshall suggests as a mnemonic: 'Persons sit on ground under roof at gathering.'
