孝子 == koushi == dutiful child
不孝 == fukou == filial impiety, lack of dutifulness to parents


Upper radical is 'old man', bottom radical is 'child' (子). Henshall suggests remembering the top radical by association with 'earth' (土), and as a mnemonic: 'Filial piety is child caring for earthy old man.
