Working on all my story revisions. Inefficiently. Working lots of hours in the ER. That's it. Nothing else to report. Tove out.

abu(nai), aya(ui)
meaning: dangerous

危機 == kiki == crisis
危うい == abunai == dangerous, critical, grave, uncertain, unreliable, limping, narrow, close, watch out!

Originally just the top/left radical, showing a person crouching at the edge of a cliff. The inner radical was originally another crouching figure for emphasis, but was replaced through miscopying with the radical for 'fallen figure', yielding the folk etymology that this character represents a figure at the top of a cliff looking at a fallen person below. Henshall suggests as a mnemonic: 'Crouch on edge of dangerous cliff: mate fallen.'
