I've complained a couple of times about how badly I'd like to see the last episodes of Oniisama E and how annoyed I am with the TechnoGirls for not being able to do four lousy episodes in the last two years. And it wasn't looking like anyone else was going to be able to do them, because the LD's weren't available any longer.
It looks like they were able to do this because Oniisama E has finally been published on DVD. Available at CD Japan. Region 2, no English subs, unfortunately.
I've downloaded Ep. 36, and I'll be watching it soon, with a nice red Zinfandel and some popcorn. Mmmmm. I've just glanced at a few minutes of the episode, and the transfer looks very good. Wouldn't be surprised if it turns out to be better than the TechnoGirls' LD-to-SVHS transfer.
So, I'm like, happy.
I wish they'd republish a CD of the Oniisama E music, but I suspect that's a hopeless cause.
"The Troublesome Dead Fool", a short story about, um, a dead fool, is finally done and up on OWW. Sort of experimental prose technique. I'm not entirely happy with it, but it was time to stop fussing with it and 'open the door' as Stephen King says.

|Right radical is 'hand holding stick/strike/coerce'. Right radical is 'base/starting point', acting phonetically to express 'equivalence'. This character originally meant 'fight someone appropriately matched', leading to both of its present meanings. Henshall suggests taking the right radical as a combination of 'emperor' (帝), and 'old' (古), by association with 'suitable' (適), and as a mnemonic: 'Old emperor strikes suitably matched enemy.'|
