Write-write: first draft of (working title) "The Troublesome Dead Slave" done. Very rough in spots. Semi-experimental prose technique, not sure whether it works: 3rd person objective POV, rapid plot development, lots of dialog, very little description, very rapid pace, almost no exposition or description, catch-me-if-you-can worldbuilding.

Now must do second draft of "Tragedies." I looked at it for the first time in a couple of weeks last night, and maybe it's not as bad as I thought it was when I was working on it. I still have no idea whether it's actually good, though.

For those one or two of you who haven't heard yet, Google is reporting that it will be offering free e-mail services, with a 1 GByte (!!) mailbox. Because it's April 1, no one (outside of Google) is quite sure of whether this is for real or not. Major news outlets are reporting it as legit news, but the Google press release has a strange, flip tone, and no one can quite believe the size of that mailbox.
