Anime on TV now says the report of Toonami getting Sailor Moon Sailor Stars on July 27 was, in fact a hoax.
This is not surprising. There are challenges to airing any anime on US broadcast TV. Racy dialog can be replaced with something else, lesbian lovers become 'cousins', and nowadays nudity can be covered with digital bikinis (don't want to think of the final battle with Usagi in a digital bikini, though >.<) But how is a network supposed to deal with the Lights/Stars sex-change henshin? I hear French TV came up with the idea that the Lights were being replaced by their 'sisters'. Um, right. That's convincing.
Stars will get to US TV someday, one way or another. But not just yet, it seems.
