ANOTHER ROUND OF SNOW IS EXPECTED TUESDAY AFTERNOON AND NIGHT...INITIALLY ON TUESDAY AFTERNOON... THE PRECIPITATION SHOULD BEGIN IN THE FORM OF FREEZING RAIN OVER SOUTHEAST PENNSYLVANIA...THEN AS COLD AIR WRAPS BACK IN FROM THE NORTH... THE FREEZING RAIN WOULD CHANGE TO SNOW.

THERE IS THE POTENTIAL FOR 5 TO 10 INCHES IN AREAS NORTH AND WEST OF PHILADELPHIA....INCLUDING THE PHILADELPHIA METROPOLITAN AREA... 3 TO 6 INCHES OF SNOW ARE POSSIBLE.

Sigh. This is now day 3, or 5, or something, of freezing-stuff-coming-down-out-of-the-sky. Sometimes I wish I lived in the Bay area, or the Pacific Northwest, where the climate is so mild they actually have problems with feral parrots. Feral parrots, do you hear?!? *&^%$#@ parrots!

Elsewhere in the news, the room is cold because the cat is sleeping on the heating vent, blocking it. But the cat's nice and warm.

February is looking pretty full, work-wise. I may not be posting to LJ much, except daily kanji. Just so's you know.

KOU

meaning: lecture, address

講義 == kougi == lecture
This one's going out to dancingspring: 休講 == kyuukou == cancelled lecture

Left radical is 'words/speak' (言). Right radical is a character found only in Chinese meaning 'large amount of accumulation' (see yesterday's kanji). Thus, this character means 'accumulated speech': a lecture. Henshall suggests taking the right radical in its literal meaning as 'build with baskets', and as a mnemonic: 'Lecture built with 'baskets' of words.'
