Tale of a drunken ninja turtle

Found down outside bar last night. Dumped by police on the medics, who brought him to the ER. This stuff fell out of his coat. Luckily we had him in leather restraints before he woke up enough to use these things. Right are nunchucks, of course. Next is a butterfly knife. Next a folding knife. The thing on the far left is an 'asp', a collapsible baton. The metal gadget on top of the black handle triggers two inner segments to pop out, extending it to about a foot and a half. Similar in concept to the 'cobra' weapon that Case buys in the first chapter of Neuromancer. I had never seen one before.

Police should have searched him a little better, don't you think?

arawa(reru), arawa(su)
meaning: appear, exit, now

現実 == genjitsu== reality
現象 == genshou == phenomenon

Left radical is 'jewel' (玉). Right radical is 'see' (見). Originally this character meant literally to 'see a jewel'. Henshall suggests as a mnemonic: 'See jewel that now appears.'
