Become used to having heart pierced

JJA bounced another story of mine. Insufficiently grabby. A story I'd had hopes for, too. It's disheartening: the first two things I sent him he read through, but lately I can't even get to 'didn't work'. I'm going backward. I don't think I have a clue what Gordon and JJA are after.

Another story off to him tomorrow, though.

KAN
na(reru)
meaning: become used to

習慣 == shuukan == habit, custom
慣性 == kansei == inertia

Left radical is 'heart/feelings', right radical is 'pierce' (貫), acting phonetically to express 'accumulate'. Thus, 'accumulate feelings', or 'get used to'. Henshall suggests as a mnemonic: 'Become used to having heart pierced.'
