Yay! Medical kanji!

meaning: vein, pulse

冠動脈 == kondoumyaku == coronary artery
山脈 == sanmyaku == mountain range

Left radical was originally not 'moon/month' (月) but 'flesh/of the body' (肉). Right radical was originally a pictograph of a river tributary. Thus, 'tributaries of the flesh', or veins. Henshall suggests as a mnemonic: 'Veins are tributaries of the body.'
