A little of Manfred, but not very much of him

SETSU, SECHI
fushi
meaning: section, joint, period, point, tune, restrain
関節 == kansetsu == joint
節酒 == sesshu == temperance, sobriety, moderation in drink

Top radical is 'bamboo' (竹), right is 'namely' (即), acting phonetically to express 'division'. Thus, this character originally meant: 'ordered division of bamboo', an apparent reference to the sections of a bamboo stalk. Its other meanings arose from this idea. Henshall suggests a mnemonic: 'Bamboo has joints, namely sections.'
