The bottom radical is 'strength' (力). The top radical is derived from a pictograph of a person kneeling to plant a tree. Henshall suggests taking the top radical as 'round' (丸) and 'mounds of earth' (陸), and as a mnemonic: 'Strong power forces up round earthen mounds.'
