SAI
na
meaning: vegetable, rape
野菜 == yasai == vegetables
菜食主義 == saishokushugi == vegetarian

Top radical is 'plant', bottom is a non-General Use character meaning 'take/gather/pluck', and shows a hand reaching for a tree or shrub. Thus, this character originally meant 'gather/pluck plants'. It now means plants and vegetables in general, and especially the rape plant. (Also known as canola, and now well thought of because it produces a monounsaturated oil.) Henshall suggests as a mnemonic: 'Hand plucks vegetables near tree.'
