Advancing on me only brings you closer to the wrath that is my spork!

KI

meaning: season, young
季節 == kisetsu == season
雨季 == uki == rainy season

Top radical is 'rice plant', bottom is 'child' (子). This character originally meant a young rice plant. How it arrived at its current meaning of 'season' is unclear. BTW, although Henshall says it also means 'young', all the compounds in the JWP kanji word processor dictionary have to do with 'season', and I wonder if the 'young' association has simply fallen out of use. Henshall suggests as a mnemonic: 'Rice plants in season grow like young children.'
