改組 == kaiso == reorganization


The left radical is now 'twisting thread/self', and the right radical 'force/coerce' (a hand holding a stick). However, the left radical was a pictograph of a snake, and this character meant to clear an area by driving off snakes. Over time its meaning broadened. Henshall suggests as a mnemonic: 'Force oneself to reform.'
