Left radical is 'day' (日), upper right is 'wings' (羽), bottom right is
the radical form of 'bird' (鳥). The right radicals together is a
character only found in Chinese meaning 'bird's plumage'; together with the
left radical, this character means 'dazzling', i.e., 'plumage of the sun',
which is still a meaning in Chinese. Henshall suggests as a
mnemonic: 'Sun wings its way like a bird, and so a day passes.'
