This must be seen to be disbelieved: The Gladys Dwindlebimmers Ralston Gallery of the Unidentifiable.
Tears rolled down my face from laughing. Really. This is for the 14-year-old in all of us, sitting in the dark in an Art Appreciation class, watching the slides flip by on the screen, who whispers to the person beside them, "I don't care if it's art, it's still weird!"
Makes me remember an Art History teacher from college who, in commenting on an early medieval madonna, a hideous, badly carved hunk of wood covered with gold leaf, said "It's a critically important work in the history of Romanesque art, and possibly the ugliest thing I've ever seen."
I especially liked 'Asshurbackawarts', and 'Mortified Cat'. And the poor Ephesian Diana comes in for another round of abuse...
Caution for the Britney-sensitive: lots of Britney Spears jokes.
Oh, and don't miss the adjoining gallery, The Museum of Depressionist Art.
