CHRISTMAS is coming, the goose is getting fat, and I was looking for a Christmas present for my favorite call girl, camp follower, courtesan, fallen woman, floozy, harlot, hooker, hustler, loose woman, party girl, streetwalker, strumpet, tart, trollop, white slave, well, you get the idea, when I found the site. Perfect! Oh, but wait... [work-safe]

Those mad Russkies have succeeded in crossing a Yorkie with a stalk of broccoli! The result: the Petersburg Orchid. It would be useful for... for... hrm. Herding hamsters?

Home theater progress. The fabric is finally going up on the walls! The bottom half is done, the top half and maybe the screenwall will be done tomorrow. Moldings will go in early next week, followed by carpet. Then we hang the projector, terminate the cables, mount the screen, and the thing is done. At last! Except for hook-up and sound and video calibration. Oh, wait, the chairs... the factory has apparently had delays, they're due in the first or second week in December, which is okay.

I'm excited!

And notice the lighting: the overhead lights are finally on, giving a somewhat more interesting illumination than the pure flash photography of previous pictures.

meaning: village
村人 == murabito == villager
村長 == sonchou == village headman/chief
Left radical is 'tree' (木), right radical is 'hand/measure' (寸). Origin of this kanji is obscure. Henshall suggests as a mnemonic:  'Measure trees in village.'
