acting phonetically to express 'long'. Henshall suggests as a mnemonic: 'Furthermore,

Sorry that a lot of the kanji haven't had stroke orders lately. The Brazilian site I link to has been down a lot lately. Its bandwidth is always somewhat narrow, and I suspect it's a zombie site. The stroke orders are present there for only about the first thousand of the Jouyou kanji anyway; the project seems to have been quit before completion, the sad fate of many ambitious internet projects.
