  • Mood:

JOU
tsune
meaning: regular, normal, usual, always
非常 == hijou == emergency
日常 == nichijou == daily
Bottom radical is 'cloth/threads' (巾). Top radical is 'furthermore' (尚), acting phonetically to express 'long'. Henshall suggests as a mnemonic:  'Furthermore, the usual cloth, as always.'

Sorry that a lot of the kanji haven't had stroke orders lately. The Brazilian site I link to has been down a lot lately. Its bandwidth is always somewhat narrow, and I suspect it's a zombie site. The stroke orders are present there for only about the first thousand of the Jouyou kanji anyway; the project seems to have been quit before completion, the sad fate of many ambitious internet projects.
